Anti-Ragging Cell

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited inside and outside the campus, in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 and the directions of the Hon'ble Supreme Court. Every student and parent submits an anti-ragging undertaking at the time of admission.

• College Anti-Ragging Committee: chaired by the Principal, with faculty members, the hostel wardens, parent and student representatives, and representatives of the local administration and police.
• Anti-Ragging Squad: makes surprise visits to hostels, canteens and other places where students gather, and acts on every complaint immediately.
• Complaints may be made in person, by phone, by email or through the online grievance form below — anonymously if the student wishes.

Any student found guilty of ragging is liable to punishment under the UGC Regulations, including suspension, expulsion and reporting to the police.

Grievance Redressal

The Grievance Redressal Committee, constituted under the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023, receives and resolves the grievances of students and staff relating to academic matters, examinations, fees, hostels, facilities and conduct.

1. Submit the grievance through the online form, the suggestion box, by email to grievance@simptioncollege.edu.in, or in person to the Dean, Student Welfare.
2. The grievance is acknowledged and placed before the committee.
3. The committee hears the parties and communicates its decision within the prescribed time.
4. A student not satisfied with the decision may appeal to the Principal, and thereafter to the University or the UGC through the UGC e-Samadhaan portal.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Constituted under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and the UGC Regulations, 2015, the Internal Complaints Committee receives complaints of sexual harassment from students and staff, conducts inquiries in confidence and recommends action. The committee is chaired by a senior woman faculty member and includes faculty, an external member from an organisation working for women, and student representatives.

Complaints may be submitted in writing to the Presiding Officer or by email to icc@simptioncollege.edu.in.

Code of Conduct

Every student is expected to maintain the dignity of the college, on and off the campus.

• Attend classes, practicals and internal assessments regularly; a minimum of 75% attendance is required to appear in university examinations.
• Carry the college identity card on the campus and produce it on demand.
• Treat fellow students, faculty and staff with courtesy; ragging, harassment and discrimination of any kind are prohibited.
• Use college property, laboratories, the library and hostel facilities responsibly.
• Smoking, alcohol and prohibited substances are strictly banned on the campus and in the hostels.
• Follow the examination rules; unfair means attract action under the university ordinances.

Violations are dealt with by the Discipline Committee as per the rules of the college and the university.
